Does Academics Matters After Joining CDAC

Well most people are worried about "Purane Paap" and will they affect or add up in the paap they are going to commit , so rejoice people ! they won't , atleast not to the extent of destroying your glorious future :)

I am again back with the Q&A to  clear the air on some pressing concerns you have .So take a deep breath , go ahead and read as i answer most of the question bothering you.

Que. Backlogs /Arrears , do they matter during placements in CDAC ? Is it mentioned on our resumes ?

Ans. No . Backlogs if cleared in course duration do not have any impact on your placement , though you may/do have to mention it during filling of the online placement form on the portal but that does is not put into your resume which is going to be presented to the company. So breathe !

Que. One/two/three year gap after and one year gap before engineering matters ? Till what extent will it effect my chances of placement in good companies ? 

Ans. Well ,  there are many students who take a year gap after 12th to prepare for competitive exams (which you have to mention while filling form for CCPP) , so it does not affect that much but as i have mentioned in most answers it all depends on company criteria .  If you have been going to Off-Campus/Open-Campus placements you would know that most companies have criteria which they post on their websites and usually the criteria is very basic as 60% in 10th and 12th and current year passout. But there are companies who require that your engineering should be completed in 4 years and there should be no drop after engineering but those are rare companies , you will still get a lot of opportunities in very good companies. At the end the zeal to learn always matter , so always be open to learning new things.

Que. I am a non CS/IT guy , weak in programming. Mai bahot nirash hu ! 

Ans. My friend in CDAC was from EC branch and before joining CDAC all he knew was C++ and not even C , but i have to say he is now a better programmer than i am. So branch doesn't matters. Yes, a lot of things will be new to you but learning those new things in the right way from industry experts will be a advantage for you where as  most of the CS/IT guys  have to unlearn what they already knew because Engineering me "samaj ke kaun padta hai" ? But don't forget to brush up the basics because that's not going to change.  As far as the placement goes ,so again "Company Criteria" . Last time the companies which asked for students with CS/IT background was 1:XXX (Rediff , shortlisted candidates which had CS/IT as one of the criteria )

Que. I have job experience , is it good ? or is it bad ? 

Ans. Good - Because companies come to CDAC because they want people who are market ready . So having experience gives you an edge as you have hands on knowledge to tools and you are aware of the culture. Put that in your resume and it will surely help and be in your fair. One friend of mine from DESD has two years of experience with MTECH degree and he still got placed in core MNC. So good thing , right !

Saying so , that doesn't  takes anything thing away from those who have no experience and are freshers as  during interview people with experience will be asked difficult questions as to those who dont have any experience so it is good for you but at the same time you wont hurt chances of any other candidate.
